EEI-Malaysia offers the following training courses:

A three-day introductory course that will provide resource managers and researchers with knowledge and skills to manage natural resources and to conduct environmental economics research. It will provide an overview of basic of environmental economics then move on to the various environmental valuation methods and its applications. The course will wrap up with general discussion on the proposed research activities with comments on how to further develop from the resource persons.

This three-day PES course will introduce the participants with basic knowledge and skills on developing mechanism of payment for ecosystem services (PES) which include identification of ecosystem services, identification of potential buyers and its characteristics, legal framework and impacts of PES to the target groups. Research potential in PES will be identified at the end of the course. Some case studies on PES in Malaysia will also be discussed. Malaysian’s experienced researchers will serve as the course resource persons.

This three-day BCA course will introduce the participants with basic knowledge and skills on conducting benefit cost analysis of a development project. Development project is carried out by the government or private sector with the objective of improving and enhancing the wellbeing of the target group and expansion of export. This course will explain details step by step approach in conducting financial and economic benefit cost analysis. Research potential on BCA will be identified at the end of the course with the resource persons.
